Hotel in Prague

I would like a recommendation for a hotel in Prague. I would like to stay in the city center. Not looking for a luxury hotel but want a nice clean reasonably priced hotel.
Thanks

Someone must have at least one hotel recommendation.....

I'm interested too!

Maybe you should go to Venere.com or Tripadvisor.com and find a couple of hotels that look interesting to you and then ask if anyone has any experience with those hotels.

I didn't like my hotel enough to suggest it.

There was another thread this year about hotels in Prague: http://tinyurl.com/34xwuj

I would also suggest Athos Travel (http://www.a-prague.com/). When used in conjunction with information on Tripadvisor, you can get a very good deal.

We were very pleased with the Hotel Sax in Mala Strana area, but only if you get a room on the outside of the hotel (our first night was spent in a room without an outside window - it's an atrium style hotel, and the "air conditioning" was a floor fan-like thing blowing air over water). Once moved to the outside room with large double casement windows looking out on a cobbled street up which nuns walked to a monastery, we had a great (6 night) stay. The breakfasts were elegant with excellent coffee.

Our favorite very reasonably priced restaurant was a block away: U Certa with a fat wooden devil sculpture outside on the main drag up from the Charles Bridge. I had the grilled skewer of chicken, green pepper and onion three times.

Prague is wonderful - walking along its river is a much more intimate experience than in cities with larger rivers where the walkways are so far removed from the waters.

If you like art deco, don't miss the Mucha museum on Wenceslas Square - complete with old black and white film of the artist at work. The entire city is a museum of architecture.

We're booked at Hotel Hastal Praha for 102€. [email protected] 20% discount on-line www.hastal.com or tel. 0042 222 314 335, fax 0042 222 314 336

Here's someone else's description, but we haven't stayed yet. We will in a few weeks. This is a family run hotel near the Old Town Square. Rooms are simple and clean, but they have the most fabulous feather down pillows and soft duvets. The staff is very friendly and accomodating.

The latest trip advisor opinion from January noted that they were working on the roof during the day and that was a problem. I'm hoping the work is completed, but in any case, we won't be in the hotel during the day!

I've been to Botel Admiral last week. Botel stays for Boat Hotel, anchored in the river. It is very close to the principal square, about 10 minutes walking along the river or less if you take a tram. Rooms, cabins actually, are a bit small but very clean and confortable. Breakfast is fine, they have a very good restaurant.

We stayed at the Pension Corto (http://www.corto.cz)in January. The rooms were spacious and clean, the location was perfect and the breakfast was great. They even give you a complimentary drink upon arrival, and 10% off in their restaurant.

In December we stayed at Ibis Olde Town just near the Powder Tower-new, clean and not expensive. 4 minutes walk to Olde Town Square.

OT/Mucha is in Art Nouveau-style; there is a Museum of Czech Cubism in the center.

Reccommend the Hotel Adria, great location right on Wenceslas Suare, easy to walk everywhere.
4 star, good rates, very clean and friendly.
We had a lovely time here and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention, the Adria has a superb restaurant down in the lower groud floor, best one we found in Prague.
