Hotel in Paris with very early check in
 

I have a very early flight into Paris and am looking for somewhere to have a shower and a sleep. Preferably an inexpensive hotel/hostel with shower facilities that could accomodate me in the morning. Hopefully close to the airport. Any ideas?????

This is entirely different than what you asked on your other thread - now you want a place near CDG (I assume that is the airport you mean)

The answers on your other thread are about hotels in Paris. if you need something at the airport you'll need to gain access to one of the lounges w/ showers.

Hotels won't guarantee you a room that early unless you book for the night before.

I believe that the Air France lounge at CDG (Terminal 2, not sure which concourse (A, B, C, D, E, or F)) offer these services (shower and small rooms for naps). I'm not sure how to get access - if you can pay or not. Probably worth checking out.

There are a number of cheaper hotel chains at or near CDG (Formula 1, Ibis), but I don't have any idea of pricing.

There are Formule 1 hotels near CDG and there is nothing cheaper. Here's a link: http://tinyurl.com/z6x2p. There is free shuttle bus service between the airport and the hotel.

They used to have one of those Japanese cubicle places at CDG, but I think it is closed now. I'm not sure, but I think perhaps the Ibis hotel at the airport (Roissypole) will let you pay for a "day room" use only, if the Air France lounge doesn't work out (I kind of don't think they just allow anyone in there). It's not a whole lot cheaper than the regular overnight rate, but a little. At last you can check it out. The Formule 1 could be even cheaper than that for a regular room, though. I think there is an Etap out there somewhere, also, which is real cheap for a room. You need a big, cheap hotel like Ibis which will probably always have some empty rooms and willing to rent them for only part of the day.

rent for part of the day? i didnt know you could do that. how does this work? with awkward flight times there must be a market for hald day/night rooms.

Yes, there is an Etap hotel near CDG. The rate is slightly higher than for the Formule 1 hotel. The same free shuttle bus service applies.

Some airport hotels market day room packages, as lower rates than a regular room. I guess they just know that they will get some folks later on in the day who need the room overnight, but they may not get there until after dinner, so they can make a lot more money putting the room to use during the day. I think they usually specify when you must leave, like 5-6 pm, and they aren't available until midmorning or so. A big hotel probalby has enough empty rooms they can do that, and at the airport, they have guests who may check out real early so they have those rooms cleaned quickly.

For example, Novotel London has a day room package rate where you must leave by 6 pm, and can arrive 9 am or later.

Actually, there is a Novotel out at CDG, so if they do it in London, they may do it elsewhere. But I think their day room rate could be higher than a super cheap Formule 1.
