Hotel in Paris

My wife and I are in our 60's and will be in Paris ( first time ) for 3 nights in September. Please offer ideas on a reasonably priced hotel in central Paris or one near a metro stop. Thank you

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Louvre Forum, which is now called the Hotel Crayon (www.hotelcrayon.com). It's located at 25 rue du Bouloi in the 1st Arrondisement. It was modest but nice, with an optional breakfast. There's an elevator. And it's close to the mammoth Les Halles station, which has several Metro lines and an RER line.

It's in Central Paris and close to everything or an easy Metro ride to whatever you want.

So jealous! I love Paris! Have fun!

sorry -- "arrondissement."

For years we have stayed at the ** Hotel Vivienne in the 2nd, a very friendly place. Very large quiet rooms in the back. Two good Metro lines a block away, several bus lines.

You need to state, in euros or dollars, what "reasonably priced" means to you. It means various things to different people. You don't need to worry about the métro - there's almost always a stop very close by. It's a fabulous transport system.

You need to book a hotel quickly as September is a popular month and you don't have much time.

Jump to the bottom of the thread and then scroll up to Dec 31,2010. In that section, I have categorized the recommended hotels, by district, and have provided websites.

Happy Travels!

DH and I are in our "very late 50s" to quote Garrison Keillor and we love the Hotel Relais Bosquet in the 7th.

Very close to Ecole Militaire Metro station, comfortable beds, more spacious rooms than some Paris hotels where we have stayed, very nice bathrooms with double sinks, very good breakfast. The staff are wonderful from booking to departure. There are lots of restaurants in the area.

Scootoir - Nice looking hotel for the price. AND it's in a nice area.

Folks will confuse the location with Rick Steeves' Rue Cler. Please note the difference.

I'm a left bank person, but I've mostly stayed in the 6em.

Looks like time for a change.

Scootoir et al - in the hotel description, it ways rue clerc, but the hotel is on the Champ du Mars. My apologies.
