hotel in Paris
 

I am planning a trip to Paris in early April 2007. Do I need to find airconditioned rooms? It seems that most hotels do not have airconditioning. Any suggestions? I want a big bed though I am travelling alone. Budget is 100 Euro (super-maximum I would be willing to shell out!)

Ah, April in Paris. You'll need heat and a nice place to dry out your clothes. Bring waterproof shoes.

You can book a 'double for single use' at most hotels.. April is cool weather, no A/C needed... 100Euro is <i>usually</i> a 2* hotel,unless you move out of the center.

No you won't need air con in the spring.

For looking for Paris hotels, my suggestion is to first figure out which arrondisement (neighborhood) you wish to stay in. Then look there. This is MUCH easier than trying to evaluate every hotel in all of greater Paris in your price range.

Start with a good map. You'll see the arrondisement numbers spiral outward from the center starting with 1. 4 is the Marais, 5 the Latin Quarter, 7 where the Eiffle Tower is, etc. You can tell this by the last numbers of a hotel 'zip code' in their address.

I agree you won't need AC for early April, and even if a hotel has AC facilities, the odds that it would be turned on in early April are pretty slim. Lots of hotels have AC in Paris (it seems the majority of 3* do now, at least in the center), it's just the ones under 100 euro probably don't.
