Hotel in London

Looking for a nice hotel in the heart of london (west end, chelsea, kightsbridge, soho) and don't want to spend $300.00 or more USD a night. Can anyone suggest one?

The Rembrandt Hotel is in the heart of Knightsbridge across from the V&A on Brompton Rd. & within your budget or several people here bid on Priceline. Here's the link to the Rembrandt:

This weekend The New York Times travel section ran a short feature on new, less expensive hotels in central London. These included Base2Stay and The Rockwell which are in the Kensington/Chelsea area. Doubles at the 67-room Base2stay (www.base2stay.com) start at 99 pounds. Doubles at The Rockwell (therockwell.com) start at 160 pounds.

You could also try The Knightsbridge Green hotel. It's a small, nothing fancy hotel in a very good location. There's no nighttime reception past about 10 PM, but you're given a front door key to let yourself in. We stayed there a few times and found it decent and relatively inexpensive for London. Also, it's very close to the tube station and Hyde Park. The area is a little quiet at night, but overall a good value for London.

Try londontown.com..you can almost always get the Millenium hotels or Rembrandt, which I like just for their convenience to where I want to be..for about 100 GBP or less.

Thistle Charing Cross is a nice hotel, close to many things and really convenient. We got it on Priceline for about $90 per night in April.

We stayed at Vancouver Studios last year. It was clean, quiet, and very reasonably priced. Its in the Bayswater area and a short walk to Hyde Park. Would Highly recommend it. I think we paid approximately 80 pounds a night

If you are heading to Knightsbridge, then I highly recommend the Millenium (above) on Sloane street. Its the very best hotel at that pricepoint I have stayed in in London (and I have stayed in MANY) I paid about 135 GBP. Great location (shopping Mecca, V&A), great hotel. Rooms have broadband and the restuarant is highly rated.

Knightsbridge/S. Ken/Chelsea is my favorite area in London, by a LONG way - I adore its quiet streets and (almost) small-town atmosphere.
