hotel in copenhagen
Can someone suggest a nice hotel in Copenhagen that is very centrally located and has helpful staff with tours? Thanks for your response

Copenhagen Admiral Hotel is centrally located, in terms of distance from the airport. It is four star, and yes the cost IS less than EURO100. The prices start at EURO87. Considering that this outstanding hotel has teak wood furniture and premium hospitality, it's definitely worth the price.

I totally agree with the Admiral. My husband and I were there the end of last year, and we stayed there for a week. Great breakfast buffet, lots of English spoken, and cute little lounge too. As my husband was working all week, I had to sightsee by myself. I walked almost everywhere, only took the train a couple of times, which was also very easy. So fun! Enjoy!

Who ever keeps posting that this hotel has room for a 100 euro is wrong: here is the price list that I just retreived off their website a minute ago:
Rates 2002 DKK Euro*)
Single room
1140 -1195 153 -
161
Double room
1365 -1435 184-
193
Junior suite 1-2 pers.
Junior suite 3 pers.
Junior suite 4 pers. 1530 206
1630 219
1730 233
Senior suite 1-2 pers. 2050 276
Skandinavian breakfast buffet 98 13

Look it up on their website the lowest cost room is 153 euro. I stayed there in March 02, when I got married and the rooms rates are not negoitable and breakfast cost 13 euro extra. It is a lovey hotel that caters to business man with expense accounts. Heres the web address: www.admiralhotel.dk
see for yourself...there are much better and more reasonably priced accomadations to be had in this town.

Mary: A good alternative is the Hotel Danmark, a three star that goes for about $120 for a double with breakfast. We stayed there last year. It is two short blocks from the beginning of the Stroget, across the street from the City Hall and two blocks from Tivoli as well. The furnishings are nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. Get an upper room (we were on the fifth floor) facing the back of the hotel and you will have a view of the rooftops of the old town which is right behind you. We were very satisfied with this hotel and thank the people on this board that recommended it.

I second the recommendation for the Danmark. Stayed there in '99 and loved it. The location can't be beat. It's also just a block or two from the National Museum, which has internet access in its media room and admission is free if you have a Copenhagen Card (also free on Wednesdays to everyone, I think, and pretty reasonably priced even without the card)

Sophie Amalie Hotel on Sankt Annae Plads right in between Nyhavn & Amalienborg.

Great place, can't beat the location, it's an older place but it's about one-two blocks from Nyhavn, Amalienborg & the Oslo ferry dock.

I was there on a tour, but I think it was about $100 U.S. per night.

Mary,
A great bargain is the DGI-Byens hotel.
It's pretty close to the center of town, and near the railway station. I stayed there a couple of days last year, and as I recall it was around $100 a night. The staff were very helpful, and although I wasn't looking for any tours, I'm sure the hotel can help arrange 'em.
See the website: www.dgi-byen.dk
Have fun,
Bobby
