Hotel in Brussels, Oct 20 & 22
 

OK, we have our hotels in Amsterdam and Paris, arrival and departure cities, but now need two nights in Brussels, but not two consecutive nights. We'll be with our guide in Bastogne on the night of Oct. 21. We'll be arriving and departing by train, looking for something convenient to train and public transportation as we'll be doing a quick look at Brussels and a day trip to Bruges. Not looking for anything big or fancy, definitely en-suite. Were hoping to keep it around 150 Euro or so per night, but not sure if that is enough. Thanks for any info you might have. Also, does the Brussels train station have luggage lockers?

The Catalonia Forum hotel is well-regarded and is in a good residential area, yet very close to a tram stop that would take you to the center of town. It's just a block or so from the Chaussee de Waterloo in the Ixelles section, which is full of very good, moderately priced, non tourist restaurants. The hotel would probably let you store your luggage with them for the night you won't be there, so you could just take what you need for your Bastogne portion.
Well reviewed on Trip Advisor (but it's NOT in the "suburbs" as one reviewer suggested, it is certainly in town, though not in the touristy center of town).
It's 115 euros per night, double, for both nights. Has its own dining room, but you will be close to so many nice restaurants and cafes, I wouldn't eat there.
Another option is the Ibis around St. Catherine.
Yes, there are lockers at the train station. Also attended luggage storage (at the Gare du Midi).

If you look at hrs.de - you will find lots of hotels in your price range. For location - you can't beat the "eurostars" hotel in the Sablon, which is coming in around 150 euros (though I can't vouch for the hotel itself).

We loved our stay at the Hotel Welcome, a short walk to the Grand Place and lots of cafes nearby.Metro stop right outside the door

Another vote for the Hotel Welcome.

I've been saving Passports to Europe with Samantha Brown, and watched one today on Brussels. She stayed in Hotel Welcome. Each room was decorated with items collected from the owner's travels outside Europe. Is this the same Hotel Welcome?

Thanks, Avalon, and all who've helped. Getting very excited about the whole trip. I don't know about the metro station yet, but will try to find out as we will be departing by train to Paris after our time in Belgium.

I just use Priceline in Brussels. Never paid more than $65/night (+ taxes & fees) for a 4-star hotel.

A quick post to say we have reservations at Hotel Welcome. I think this will be the most unusual place we stay on this trip.
