Hotel in Brussels?

I will be in Brussels for 2 nights in May and typically I stay at the Hotel Ibis next to the Grand Place, however, I just found out that all of the rooms are booked. Does anybody have any suggestions for a moderately priced hotel near the Grand Place, I am drawing a blank. Thanks.

Try the Hotel Amigo .It was pricey but the most convenient hotel we found to use as a base to go on many walking and sightseeing tours.Staff was friendly and it is 1/2 block to the Grand Palace and very convenient to wonderful restaurants.

You might try the Hotel Mozart, Rue Marche aux Fromages 23; fax 32 2 5027758
e-mail: [email protected] Only a stone's throw from Grand Place, reasonable, small.

Justin-
We stayed at a nice little boutique hotel very close to the Grand Place. Didn't look like much from the outside but it was very nice inside (used to be a mansion for the Spanish Consulate). The hotel was called 'Le Dixseptieme' (it is recommended by the Fodor's books). It was reasonably priced and we enjoyed it very much. I know they have a web site that allows you to look at the hotel so you may waant to do a search. Good luck!

Even though it's not in the vicinity you're looking for, I very much enjoyed the Hotel Manos. One thing is important: Ask for a garden view -- the front facing rooms are very noisy.

http://www.manoshotel.com/manos/frame/index.html
If you'e going to be there over a weekend (Fri, Sat or Sun night) the Amigo has great rates, about half of what they are during the week. Check out their website for which unfortunately, I've forgotten the address. But if you do a search you should find it easily.

Thanks everybody, I will look into your suggestions. I ususally get in a rut and tend to stay at the same place over and over & when I heard the Ibis was full during my stay, I could not think of other places. Thanks again! -Justin

I was in Brussells last summer on business and stayed at the Novotel Hotel, just two blocks from the train station and two blocks from the Grand Place. Attracts a lot of business people. Modern hotel and reasonable.
