Hotel in Brugges

We will be in Belgium for 3 days in August. After reading Fodors reviews we thought we would base ourselves in Brugges and take day trips to Gent and Brussels. Can you suggest a few hotels in Brugges with the best location possible, great charm and cost is not an issue (special occasion).

Any recommendation for great restaurants to try in the three cities mentioned would also be appreciated.

we stayed at hotel bryghia in brugges. nice, quaint, well located. I know there are more expensive places; at least one that is near the old fish market and square but I can't remember the name.

We stayed at a great place in Brugges called Number 11. Loved it! Say hi to Annie!

Try the Hotel de Tuilerieen. Very nice, great breakfast (included), 5 min walk from the town center, very nice staff and when the temperature hit 35C when we were there in August, the AC was very welcome.

I always suggest the Hotel De Barge - which is as the name suggests - a boat! It has a small bar, nice restuarant, rooms with canal views (obviously!) and really nice staff who speak fantastic English. I'm going to keep recommending it ad-nauseum until someone actually tries it out!

Thanks everyone, I will check out the suggestions. Has anyone heard of or stayed at the Hotel Relais Bourgondisch Cruyce in Brugge?
