Hotel in Barcelona
 

We are going to Barcelona. Does anyone know a reasonably priced hotel (2 or 3 stars) in downtown Barcelona close to everything.

H10 Catalunya - across from Placa (Plaza) Catalunya. Very central and quite nice too.

Hotel Gran Via

Hotel Avenida Palace, great location, nice rooms, great breakfast.

I, too, recommend the Gran Via...around the corner from Placa Catalunya, venerable, colonial style hotel, sweeping staircase, fairly good sized rooms, large bathrooms (be sure to insist on a room in the back of the building). If you'll have a car, there is a parking garage next door.Today's rates should be around $180.

The Apsis Atrium Palace; two blocks from Placa Catalunya, great buffet breakfast, free internet access, indoor pool. Ask for a room on the FRONT of the building with a balcony overlooking the Gran Via...the french doors are great at blocking out all of the street noise.

Avenida Palace is also very very close to Plaza Cataluna and the Ramblas

We stayed at Granados 83, part of the Derby hotel chain. It's right in the middle of everything in the Eixample area. It's one of those design hotels in the trendy new style. Rooms were small but the place is fabulous and less than 200 euros for a double. it's close to lots of great eating also. I'd definitely book there again.
