I'm helping my boss find a hotel in Athens for 4 nights before he and his wife go on a cruise in mid-October 2006.

I've been looking at lots of reviews, but I was wondering if any of you had a favorite. They're looking in the moderate price range ($200 per night or less). Would prefer to stay near the Plaka area.

I"ll give you a report when we return from our trip late August.We are staying at the Bretagne in Athens.I hope it's good.

In June we stayed at the Athos Hotel...

...and found it to be a nice hotel for not too much money. The upper rooms on the back have a great view of the Acropolis. This is right in/by the Plaka.

Just stayed at the Magna Grecia. It was great and prices just right. A gem in the middle of the Plaka.
