Hotel in Athens
 

Folks,
We need your help in finding a good hotel in Athens in July. My budget is about $150-$180. We are a family with a 12 and 5 yr old.

Check out the Athens Gate Hotel. I had clients who had good luck there. I can't say I've stayed there myself.

These are all within easy walking distance to Syntagma Square and the Plaka District, all on Mitropoleos Street.

Just some feedback on the Athens Gate. We were there last fall and thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice, modern rooms. The front looks over the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the back (and rooftop restaurant/bar) has stunning views of the Acropolis. Excellent breakfast buffet and very accommodating staff. 5 min walk to Plaka and 3 min walk to Akropoli metro station. If you're a light sleeper, though, ask for rooms on the backside - they're also cheaper.
