Arezzo is not exactly rich in hotels, and to the best of my recollection, there are none in the historic district.
We stayed at the Hotel Continentale, quite bland, very much a businessman's type of hotel. It is on a traffic circle at the border of the historic district. Frommer's mentions another, Cavaliere Palace, which is just off the traffic circle and a little more quiet. |
eloise thank you for the reply. that confirms most of what i thought. am still running down info on the etrusco palace

I also stayed at the Continentale and wouldn't do it again if I could avoid it, although it was very convenient for the antiques fair in the historic center and only a block or so from the train station. The room was adequate at best. The reservationist had made an error and assigned my friend and me a double bed rather than the twins I had specifically asked for. The deskman had to call the owner or manager at home to get permission to give us another room. Service wasn't their strong point.
