Hotel/Hostal recommendations appreciated - 2 night layover in Madrid

Looking for recommendations for a clean, safe, quiet,& centrally-located property that can be accessed by public transportation from the airport. We'll be enroute to Africa and are breaking up the long flight with 2 days/nights in Madrid. We're hoping to for something 100E or less. Your recommendations are appreciated.

try having a look at the following link:

the site carries info about the hotels and their locations.

cavers2,
I left a suggestion for you in my response to your other thread. It was the Hotel Plaza Mayor-details of how to get there are in my response on your first thread.

My daughter and I loved the Hotel Plaza Mayor. The rooms are small but very nice, the breakfast room is charming, and the location is very central. The Plaza Mayor, a block away, is lovely.

I also stayed in Hotel Plaza Mayor and loved it. My single room was small, but very clean and comfortable. Looks out to a quiet square.

I took the subway to Plaza Mayor, then walked there. It's not too simple to know which direction to go after getting out of the subway, so ask ahead.

I have stayed at Hostal Victoria one and two (they have three properties) and was satisfied. The properties were clean, comfortable and safe and I believe would meet your needs. ("Hostals" do not provide the full services of a "hotel".)

There are quite a few links for Madrid hotels and hostals on http://www.madridman.com/

Thanks to all for the suggestions - don't think I'd enjoy our travels as much without all the help these forums provide.
