Hotel help - Barcelona

I'm hoping to get a good hotel recommendation for Barcelona. My finace and I will be in Barcelona for part of our honeymoon from Aug 29th to Sept 6th. We're looking for a good hotel...we don't plan on staying in much, so it doesn't have to be anything super fancy. Something with a nice view and AC, and centrally located would be great. Any recommendations on sites to see are welcome as well. Thank you

I know I'm beginning to sound like a recording on this Barcelona which hotel question but my recommendation would be at least to CONSIDER staying at the Colon. It sits directly across the square in front of the gothic cathedral, is close, by Metro and walking, to other sites, and the view of the church from a window or balcony is magical. Try to get it at a discount through one of the discount sites, too.

I love the Colon and would recommend it as well. For something cheaper, the Colon also has a sister property, just around the corner I believe, called the Regencia Colon.

We are staying at the Colon in May and I will let you know if these posts are on the mark.

I'm going to Barcelona in October and made reservations at the Gran Via, which is centrally located at the border of the Eixample district. I've never stayed there before, but based on recommendations from this site, plus a few guide books, I've decided to try it. It's 110 Euros a night.

Do a search specifically on Barcelona hotels and you'll find lots of info.
