Hotel Giorgione in Venice

Has anyone stayed here recently? They don't have their own canal stop - how far away will the water taxi drop us off? Accomodations nice? Thanks!!

There are quite a few previous threads about the Giorgione. If you type venice AND giorgione in the text search box you will bring them up. The only negatives ever reported are, some have complained of very small rooms (and bathrooms) BUT others have said the size was fine. This suggests to be there's a wide variance in room size within the hotel. I have copied one particular post for you

"Like a prior poster, I stayed at the Giorgione several years ago. It's in a good location, very close to the Rialto, but away from the big crowds there. The hotel has beautiful common rooms decorated with Murano chandeliers. Also, the guest rooms are pretty spacious by Venetian standards. Unlike the San Marco area where you run the risks of eating at tourist traps, there are several excellent and reasonable restaurants nearby: 1) Da Beppi (as previously noted); 2)Trattoria all Vedova; and 3) Alla Vecchia Cavanna. You will also be close to the Ca' D'Oro Vaporetto stop if you want to go anywhere that isn't a short walk away."

Since the hotel is near the Ca D'Oro vaparetto stop, a water taxi will get you at least as close, if not closer. Why not ask the hotel how far and how many bridges (if any) must be crossed to get there.

Have a great trip.
