Hotel Gare du Nord

Has anyone stayed at this hotel near the RR station? It is south of the Gare du Nord train station.
Thankyou, Bob

Bob: Which one of these??
Anyway, you are likely not to receive too many answers. The area around Gare du Nord/Gare de l'Est is not among the most favourite ones of the Fodorites and others.

If it is the Hotel Gare du Nord directly across from the station we did a few years ago while on a tour--and passed by it in October. It is quite nice inside, good service, nice breakfast room. The area around it is pretty rough. It is quite easy to get a hotel in the more central part of Paris even if you arriving at the Gare--just take a cab.

Thank you for responses. It is the Comfort Hotel de La Gare du Nord. Is this the hotel accross from the station? That I would love.

I walked this area 2 years ago and it seemed ok and it was my first view of Paris. It seemed so alive. I compare this area to Detroit where I worked in an autoplant for 32 years. I know I have to be careful.

Again Thanks for your response

The Comfort Hotel isn't in front of the station -- I think that hotel in front might be the Libertel Terminus Nord, a 3-star that is supposed to be pretty nice. The Comfort Hotel is a few doors down a nearby side street, but is not far from the station. That is a very lively and diverse area, that's for sure.
