Hotel for Thanksgiving ??
 

Planning on running to Paris for Thanksgiving.. Leave CLT on Tuesday 11/20 and return on Monday 11/16 - Normally stay in apartments but not sure if I can get one for only 5 nights.. so thinking hotels.. Suggestions for a nice but not too pricey hotel anywhere in areas 1 - 7... Any suggestions would be appreciated

That is a pretty open ended question. Who knows what "nice but not too pricey" means.

Take a look at some of the 1,000+ hotels in Paris and get an idea as to what you want and afford.

MANY apartments rent for short stays.

I am also typically an apartment-renter, but enjoyed the Hotel du Danube. We had a superior room. Should be in your budget. Good location, pleasant staff. Pick the biggest room you can in your price range here. For five nights you'll appreciate it.

Denmal--Lots of the apartment renters end up with "odd lot" dates around that time of year, so contact a few agencies, what the heck. I know everyone here likes VIP, but we had good luck with Paris Vacation Apartments (parisvacationapartments.com)last Thanksgiving.

For easy hotel comparisons, I found an old post today that listed this website: http://www.hotelscombined.com/ that's sort of like Kayak on steroids.

I've used Venere, but I usually rely on booking.com. This new (to me) site has been very helpful as I search for a two-night stay in Rome.

You could look at Hotel Le Fleurie or Hotel Louis Ii in the 6th. Nice, clean, good location for both, not too pricey.

My current favorite is the Hotel Clément on Rue Clément, just off St Germain. www.hotelclementparis.com

There are plenty of apts that rent for five days if that is really what you want. NOt as many as a week or more, but enough if you really want one.

There are probably hundreds of hotels in those arrondisements in that price range, though. I would stay in a hotel if I were there only five days. I liked both the Hotel de la Sorbonne and the Trianon hotel, both in the Latin Qtr but good locations. The Trianon is really just across the border to the west of bd St Michel so I guess St Germain. Both those hotels are also convenient to the RER B line if you wanted to take that to/from the airport. The Trianon has very good rates and is a really nice hotel, I thought. The room I had was much larger than usual rooms in Paris for that level and price. The Sorbonne has somehow reinvented itself as a design hotel so not sure what it costs nowadays.
