hotel for Barcelona one night. airport next day

Hi we will have been in Barcelona a few days, staying at the Hotel Catalonia La Pedrera, for a conference in the wine region..then we are off to Mallorca. I need a nice hotel though on our return for one night, flight is 11:40 am the next day.

and any thoughts on Mallorca would be appreciated! Hotels,, how long to stay.. presently we are 3.5 days..

You can stay just about anywhere in central Barcelona and be at the airport in 30 minutes. So enjoy your last night.

The Hotel Catalonia La Pedrera is not in the best location for touring, but it's find if you don't mind the walk.

As far a Mallorca goes, what is your budget? There are a number of excellent options, but it will depend on where you want to stay, in Palma or somewhere outside, and what you want to do.

Yes the Hotel P is paid for by the conference,so one cant be too picky!

In Mallorca we will rent a car and would like to go to two places. We will have 3.5 days.. we can stay in two places.. or would actually prefer one and then to drive around. I admit I have not started my research et.. Looking for a nice hotel or B annB even preferred. 175.00 to 250.00 USD a night. thank you!!

Hi, You don't mention when you will be going. The hotel you're booked in now is on the far more modern side of the Eixample, away from the main historic centre. We have been in Barcelona many times (had a house 3 hours away) and I always book around the Placa Catalunya. From there you can walk day and evening around the most interesting, historic areas. If you're not at the wine conference every day and this is your first visit to Barcelona, I'd suggest you take a day on the hop on hop off bus - there are two pretty much the same. They both stop on the Placa Catalunya and you can buy your tickets there. Then you can see the places further away from the historical centre, like Gaudi's Parque Güell and the Sagrada Familia, the Olympic site, etc. In the evening they are quite empty, so it's fun to sit on top and see the city in lights. My European friends got me hooked on booking.com and I use them now for myself and friends constantly. You can check each hotel you look at to see it's location in proximity to the Placa. I've stayed within a block or two on three different sides now. Never been disappointed in 8 yrs now all over the world. Have fun!

Sorry for hijacking, but blowfish3399, can you tell us where you stayed near Placa Catalunya? That's where I'd like to stay for one night before flying out of Barcelona. Thanks!
