Hotel for 90 Euro's on Ile Ste. Louis, Paris
I remember staying in a hotel/pensione that was extremely inexpensive on the Ile Ste. Louis. Does anyone know of one that is very inexpensive on the island or close by? Can anyone recommend one like that? How about the Hotel Bonaparte. Is that close to all the sites. I will be staying as a single and can walk. Any suggestions would be very helpful. My trip is in less than 1 week.

Thanks. and it was some time ago. Can you recommend one that is in the price range around the area. I am looking for something that is close to that price and location. Can you recommend one? Is it possible to find something like that. Thanks for your reply.

The only place I can think of on the Ile that is extremely inexpensive is the Hotel Dieu (the Hotel-Hospital), It is right next to Notre Dame, the location certainly can't be beat. the hotel is on the top floor of the hospital, and a single with en-suite bathroom with bath and toilet is 93 Euro. I haven't stayed there so I can't give a first hand recommendation, but here is the website:

Prices are listed under "Services"

Hi
Yeah I don't know of anything cheap on Ile St. Louis. Pity, I really like this part of Paris (me and 100 million others!). Margot's suggestion is a good one. That one wouldn't be too far away from the island. Or maybe try Familia Hotel - http://www.hotel-paris-familia.com.
Cheers

Frankdaddy, I"ve stayed at Hotel du Lys (B&B) 3 times and never had any problems...the location is great, just 2 blocks from the St. Michel Metro in the Latin Quarter. I believe it's gotten mixed reviews on TripAdvisor but if you're okay with a charming, no frills place to stay, this may be an option...
Also, I recently looked at many many apartments in the Latin Quarter and the Marais and most were way under $90 per night and included a kitchen and a washing machine (the prices were so great I rented one for a week rather than go to the B&B). If you get desperate, you might want to consider looking into apartments online as well~
Good luck and have a great trip!

Hi F,
The Bonaparte is 95E for a single, w/bkfst.
It is very conveniently located.
Enter the address (61 rue bonaparte) at www.mappy.com. It will give you metro stops and walking distances.
Have a nice visit.

Maybe everything seemed really cheap a long time ago, and maybe during a time when the value of the dollar was higher.
Hotel Dieu is not extremely cheap, it's the same as any 2* hotel or more, and isn't on Ile st Louis, anyway. There is a very cheap hotel on the other island, though, Hotel Henri IV--at least if it's still open. Extremely cheap means you won't get much.

Thank you for your replys and as usual all of you had some great ideas. I just booked Hotel Bonaparte as Ira suggested and will be staying there. Is the location within walking distance of the Louvre and other sites? How about a fun restaurant in that area? Thanks for all your responses.

Hi F,
>Is the location within walking distance of the Louvre and other sites?
Of course. Would I steer you wrong?
St Sulpice is right around the corner. The Luxembourg gardens are about 3 blks S.
Go to www.mappy.com for walking routes and distances.
>How about a fun restaurant in that area? <
Dining in France is much to serious to be "fun".
Many restaurants are located just behind the hotel on rue Cannettes, rue Guisard, rue Princesse and rue Mabillon.
Pizza Vesuvio is at 1 Rue Gozlin, just across Boul St. Germain from the church.
Have a nice visit.

Ira Thanks very much. I have been looking on the web and it looks like taking the train from CDG airport to the hotel is easy. What about the Museum Pass? Is it worth getting 38 EU for one day seems a little steep. I will most likely have only 1 day for the first night in Paris then I leave and come back for another 3 nights. If I want to see the Louvre and maybe the Museum de Orsay is that possible in one day and will the admission prices for those 2 museums exceed 38EU. I appreciate your response. Thanks again

I am not sure where you got 38e for a one day museum pass? They don't even sell a 1 day pass. You were probably looking at some type of combo pass?
This is the official site-

30e for 2 days
45e for 4 days

Okay Frank, I get it know-
You were looking at the Paris Pass at 39e. Museum and sightseeing pass. It's definitely not worth it for 1 day. But it may be worth it for 3 days because you get a cruise and bus thing thrown in (which you don't get with the 1 day pass).
Cheers.

Hi F,
I have yet to purchase a pass.
For just the D'Orsay and the Louvre, you can get tickets the day ahead and not have to wait on line.
I don't recommend trying to do both in one day. Give yourself a chance to breathe in between.
