Hotel for 1 night in Dublin

Hi! My mother and I will be touring Ireland (NI and Republic) in November this year (21-29) and will be flying into Dublin. We would like to book a nice, reasonable, and centrally located hotel for this first night. Has anyone been to Dublin recently and can comment on this? Thank you in advance!!

Whats reasonable? I'm just back from Dublin and stayed in the Shelbourne which is 255 euros - and is very central.

www.centralhoteldublin.com

I stayed at the Central Hotel on my last visit to Dublin in November 2005 (I think I paid around Euro 100 for a single, and its probably not much more for a double). I have also stayed at the Shelbourne, but that was in 1998, before it was rebranded. Both have excellent locations, but the Central Hotel is much more reasonably priced.

Lawchick, actually, I was thinking around 100 Euro, we are cheap. Anything?

100 euros is not much for Dublin.

Though having checked there are a good few rooms on Lastminute.ie for under 100.

Check here before you book anything though as some of them are not in great areas.

I saw the O'Callaghan Mont Clare Hotel for 99euros - this is centrally located and is quite acceptable.

It's been several years ago, but I stayed at the Wynn's Hotel on Abbey St., just off O'Connell; it was not too expensive and included an excellent breakfast. A benefit: the airport bus probably stops very close to the Hotel (it leaves from Abbey & O'Connell).
