If you are talking about the hotel in Rome, it is absolutely incredible. It is in the best part of the city, beautiful, safe and near everything. Also, the service is impeccable!! If this is the one, definately stay there, you will love it!!

Enjoy your trip!!

Alice

Kelly, did you ever find out anything on the Hotel Excelsior in Paris? Did you stay there? Liked it? Hated it?
I’ve seen good comments on one web site, but no fodorites have mentioned it. I don’t trust Margo because she doesn’t provide any comments on her experiences at the hotels she mentions. Anyone can write a book stating room number with brief descriptions. She tries to promote her book here, but I don’t believe one minute that she has actually spent a single night in ALL of the hotels. Kelly, your comments are appreciated and anyone else too!
A friend met me in Paris this April, and as my hotel was booked, he stayed nearby at the Excelsior. The location is good, quite near the Pantheon. The lobby is fine, there is an elevator. My friend had a single room with washbasin, bathroom down the hall. I think he paid about 280 FF. The room was clean and of decent size, but rather shabby, and the mattress sagged a bit. I'm guessing that the double rooms with bath have been more recently updated and are likely in better condition. Still I think you can probably do better for about the same money.

Please share your experiences. I am always looking for a better hotel for the same rate in this location.

Thanks
