Hotel Duquesne Eiffel or De Londres Eiffel

Having exhausted my options for Eiffel Tower-view apartments for 4 nights in Paris in April, I have decided to just stay at a hotel in the 7th with an Eiffel Tower view. I've narrowed the search to The Hotel Duquesne Eiffel and Hotel De Londres Eiffel. Has anyone any personal recommendations? I have already checked TripAdvisor and they both have good reviews.

A frequent poster name "StCirq" usually stays at Hotel Duquesne Eiffel. I don't know if a view room is guaranteed...sometimes you'll know if the room/rate indicates a 'view'.

Yup, I've been staying at the Hôtel Duquesne-Eiffel off and on for 20+ years. Nice place. Not all rooms have a view of the Tour Eiffel, though, so if that's a requirement you need to confirm with the hotel that you have a view.

PBH - Stayed at the Hotel Duquesne Eiffel this past October and had two rooms both with wonderful views of Lady Eiffel. They were rooms 45 & 46 but there are rooms higher up which should also give a better view. You must ask for a corner room to get the best view and if possible ask for a particular room number as I have been at reception when people have complained they requested a "room with a view" and did not get one.
The young lady receptionist who is from Mauritius was particularly helpful and thoroughly charming.

You might also wish to check out Hotel Splendid (great rates at venere.com).

I stayed at the Hotel Duquesne Eiffel for 10 days in February 2004. I was very pleased with my room, which was decorated nicely (and of course, small). Breakfast was very good, the staff was helpful and good about taking messages. The location was only a short walk from three Metro stops.

Nearby were some nice restaurants and a delightful bakery.
From my bathroom I could see the Eiffel Tower.

I have no first-hand knowledge of the DeLodres Eiffel.

Thank you all for your input. It looks like I will book the Eiffel Tour- view room with the Duquesne Eiffel. I am, however, wondering how close it is to Rue Cler. The Londres-Eiffel looks much closer to the Eiffel Tour and to Rue Cler.

The Londres is closer to Rue Cler and it looks very nice.
