I stayed at the Duquesne-Eiffel from Feb 9-20 this year and was very pleased. I got a single room with breakfast for 105 Euros per night. The room was small but nicely decorated. Breakfast was great. The staff was kind and very helpful. The hotel is situated near 3 Metro stops: Ecole Militaire, St. Francois Xavier and Segur. There's a great patisserie nearby as well as a good supermarche. It's also near LaMotte Piquet, a nice shopping area.

The staff is also very nice, but the decor is nothing special.

I've been staying there for many years. I love the place, and the neighborhood. It was completely renovated about 5 years ago, and yes, some of the rooms are small, but they are very nicely decorated in provençal fabrics, and the bathrooms are lovely. Good choice.

You can decide for yourself on the decor: http://www.duquesneeiffel.com/visite.htm

Personally, I think marble bathrooms are a nice touch.
