Hotel Dum Vaclava Lovers in Cesky Krumlov-Pls help

Hi everyone. Does anyone have a web site or e-mail address for this hotel in Cesky Krumlov? I can't seem to find it and I've seen a few of you mention the web site. I'd really appreciate your help.

For those of you who has stayed here: We're thinking of staying here four nights while we have a car and see the country side. Do they have parking? Are there restaurants withing walking distance for dinner? Thanks everyone for your help.

wj1, the following site offers an interactive map of Cesky Krumlov, along with very useful information about the town:

http://www.ckrumlov.cz/uk/atlas/i_cmm.htm

I like the format, which offers a top view of the town and by clicking on the buildings it provides great information regarding the history, etc... Enjoy!

wj1, according to the above website Hotel Dum U Václava is located at Latrán No. 25
phone +420 380 715 094
fax: +420 380 715 094
e-mail: [email protected]

Great location to explore the town, if you are looking at the above referenced map, to your right, there is a depiction of a tall Castle Tower, a diagonal line from the Tower to the lower right corner of the map will point to the exact location of your hotel. Have a great time!!

Thanks Maira. Now I can e-mail the hotel directly. The only web site I could find on my own was a booking agency. Thanks again.

You are very welcome wj1! As a tip, often I've been quoted lower rates over the phone when calling the hotel directly, making it well worth the cost of the call!

Have a fabulous trip!

Hi wj1:

www.uvaclava.cz is the website listed for U Vaclava. You can find tons of lodging info in CK at the CKrumlov.cz website by clicking on "lists" then going to the lists of accomodations. I have to say that the website for Cesky Krumlov is simply amazing. I have lost myself for hours in it. Everything about the town is in there. I love clicking on each building and looking the pictures and history.
LOL- I just realized that when you use the link I gave for the hotel, it goes to the Czech language site. Better off going to CKrumlov.cz as mentioned above, clicking on the English version, them going to lists and then accomodation lists to get to Hotel Vaclava. That way it will all be in English.

We stayed here for a week last year with a car. Yes she has a place to park a car but she must give you a permit. You can almost fall into the many restaurants nearby and the main castle entrance is around the corner. You could not pick a nicer spot to stay. Everything about the town and surrounding area was super.

Stayed at the U Vaclava last week and I have to say it was an excellent experience. The room was big and beautiful, great bathroom with cozy rounded ceilings but very modern corner tub, bidet, and towel warmer rack. A REAL hair dryer was in the bathroom too. Original artwork decorated the walls and the location was very quiet. Breakfast was served in the downstairs restaurant. It was not a buffet, but we were provided ith a short list of egg and/or meat dishes, cereals and fruits. We could order what we wished. A variety of breads/rolls were on the table. A very attentive young man brought us everything we asked for and we felt like we had a personal butler. I swear he backed up and bowed every time he left the table. It was plenty to get the motor running in the morning. 2400 crowns per night. I highly recommend it. Dagmar was generous with recommendations for sightseeing and eating, and she speaks English and a whole lot more. Wonderful spot. Only downside I can really think of was the thickness of the mattress- it may have been a bit thin but it is a small critism and we slept just fine. The towels and linens were high quality. There was a mini fridge and boom box stereo system in the room. If you go to CK, this is a fabulous place to stay.

Hi Cheesehead. Thanks for your update. We're scheduled to stay there in September and are glad to see that you liked it. Any other CK hints? What did you do, where did you go, restaurants etc? Thanks!

Oops - sorry I have not been back to see your questions wj1! I haunted the European board before vacation. Since we returned I have been hanging out at the Caribbean board, planning for a December trip to Aruba. It's an illness.... always have to be planning something! We really enjoyed our time in CK. We were there for an evening, the next day and night, and left the following morning. We visited the castle, of course, and climbed the tower for great views over the city. Only the main part part of the castle was open, the theater tours had not yet opened for the season. We spent some time at the internet cafe just outside the castle. It was a good deal - one crown a minute (about 2 bucks an hour). The first night (Easter Sunday) we had a little trouble getting a table but ended up at Don Julio, food was ok and the atmosphere was fun. That night we also made reservations for the next night at krcma V Satlavske ulici. We really enjoyed our dinner there Monday night. This place grills the food on a big open fireplace in the front room. they serve it on wooden platters and it is very simple but really tasty. We got the mixed grill for two. It was a cool evening, we were sitting watching the fire, perfect. If you go, make sure it isn't hot out and you get a table in the front room. The rest of the time we wandered about the town. There is an art museaum, and a marrionette museum, didn't see either. We went to the 14th century beer catacombs under the Hotel The Old Inn. This is the way beer was meant to be drunk! You can souvi shop to your hearts content, no shortage of that. wj1 and Maira - enjoy your visits!!
