Hotel du Lys, Paris 6TH -- HELP ¡

I´ve booked a room at this hotel, on the 6TH. Does anybody know it? Any room in special or to avoid? Waht about the breakfast?

I´ll be there in ONLY three days ¡¡

It's my favorite little budget place in the 6th and will be staying there myself again soon. It was mentioned in Nat. Geo. Traveler mag. as good value for the $$. Great location. Breakfast (included in price) is continental, but does (or did, my last trip) include a fresh croissant. Cheap Sleeps says it has more charm than most 3 stars in the area, and I would agree. Only drawback--no elevator, just an ancient, winding staircase, which is lovely to look at, but steep to climb. Hope you like it. I tell folks that it is high on charme, low on luxe!

Gets good reviews from people who have stayed there, as follows. Jose, we must have been there at the same time; I just got back today from staying there for 5 nites! I hadn't been there for 6 years and was pleased to find it to be the same great little place! I had a quirky little single on the 1st floor (1 flight up), but it was just fine (93 euros); my dghtr and her husband had a beautiful and spacious (as budget Paris hotel rooms go) on the top floor with good size bathroom and balcony. Think they paid 105 euros. Must reserve in advance; the "complet" sign was in the window during our stay. I feel torn between telling how nice it is and not wanting it to become even more popular!

Thanks for the positive report, Jose. This has been my favorite budget hotel ever since I first read about it a number of years ago. Unfortunately, it's always been booked for the times I wanted but, a few years ago, they had a cancellation so we finally got to stay there for two nights and we loved it. Superb location.
