Hotel du College de France
I am going to Paris next month (February) and a friend told me about this hotel. I would like to know about other opinions about this hotel. Are there many restaurants nearby the hotel ? Thanks very much

Yes, it is near many restaurants - and it is near many other things: cafes, markets, shops, interesting streets... Very near public transportation and within easy and/or relatively easy walking distance of many major tourist destination. The location really is outstanding.

Hi Strella, I have not stayed at this hotel, but have walked by it many times, great location, close to many sights etc.
Have you read the reviews on it,, there are tons on tripadvisor.com, but, you can just google the words " hotel du College de france reviews" and find reviews on various sites. Every post I have read about it on other forums seems pretty positive,, small rooms( totally the norm for Paris,, unless you can afford 500 euros a night or more, lol )but clean and as I said, great area. Don't worry, as long as you can deal with it being a budget/moderate hotel( so yes, clean, decent, etc, but no luxurys) you will be happy there.. the rates are good for the area.

Strella,
I have been staying at Hotel du College de France every year for the past 12 years. It is a wonderful little hotel in a great location--right in the middle of the Latin Quarter. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. A nice breakfast (optional--10 euros) is served in a dining room off the lobby.
There is a very good restaurant (Zagat-rated) right across the street, Le Pre Verre (very popular with the locals). The Metro (Maubert Mutualite) is less than five minutes away. I highly recommend Hotel du College de France.
