Celine,
While the hotel itself might be fine, it's a ***-star, I find the location pretty much out of way, at the western edge of the 17th arr.
Metro stop: Porte de Champerret, which means a lot of time to spend on the metro to get to the sites and museums.

www.hotelbanville.fr

We stayed at The Banville in June while they were under renovation. The hotel is very charming and the rooms are clean and romantic, but Celine is correct about the location being out of the way for the tourist sights. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants close by and the Arc de Triomphe is an appx. 15 minute brisk walk. We knew we were staying out of the way and were prepared for taking the metro most places. BTW, the metro stop is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. If you decide on this hotel and want a specific room, make sure you request it when making the reservation.

Would you recommend a room you liked? Stayed anywhere in better location that has the same feel?
