Hotel Dauphine St. Germain in Paris
 

Anyone stay recently at the Hotel Dauphine St. Germain in Paris? Would love to get feedback on the rooms, location, etc. Thinking of going with my husband and another couple for 4 or 5 nights in February. Would probably book the "Superior Double" size room- any experience with that room? Decent size room and bathroom?

Yes, I've checked tripadvisor but was hoping to also get some feedback from my trusted Fodors fellows! Anyone stayed there recently and have any comments?

We stayed there last March for three nights in a superior with twin beds, the room was very nice, small but larger than our son's and his partner's superior double. The room had a desk and chair, armoire but no space for a reading chair.

Both the room and bathroom (large) were immaculate and nicely decorated. Ask me about the wallpaper, I threw my back out and spent a lot of time looking at it.

The buffet breakfast is not worth the money, there are cafes and bakeries within 10 yards for breakfast. Great location.

Staff are very helpful, they use a good taxi service which, thanks to my back, we had to use several times. Very pleasant about the usual requests such as storing our bags after we checked out, directions to things in the quartier, etc.

Thanks Cathin! Very helpful. I decided to book the Superior Twin and assume we can just push the beds together to make it a king for my husband and I (although from the photos it looks like they are basically pushed together anyway).

Very good to know about the breakfast, as it would be 24euros per day for the two of us and much easier to go around the corner for a quick croissant and coffee.

Did you have a room in the back or the hotel or the front? It sounds like rooms in the front can be pretty loud from street noise, so I requested a room in the back. Hopefully it is much more quiet, as I am a light sleeper.
