Hotel D'Aubusson or Hotel De Buci in Paris???
 

I need to make a decison soon for our April stay! Both these hotels are rated 4.2 on Fodors Hotel Rants and Raves and are in the same neighborhood. The D'Aubusson is less expensive than the Hotel Buci for their standard rooms. Any opinions as to which to choose would be greatly appreciated.

I believe Hotel de Buci has small rooms. Be aware that Hotel de Buci charges a 14 euro cancellation fee even if you meet the cancellation policy deadline.
I've read about Hotel d'Aubusson and I'd rather choose that one over de Buci. It's in the same area.

D'Aubusson-better location. The Buci is right at the corner of the busiest noisest corner in that area, where all the food shops are. It is charming and great for walking and shopping, but the D'Aubusson is up the street, much more peaceful spot and much prettier hotel.
I am surprised the Buci is more!

I am not familiar with the Hotel de Buci but I stayed at the D'Aubusson last year and am staying there again this April. I love it. A beautiful hotel with extremely helpful front desk. And the location is perfect! Near rue de Buci but not on it.

stay at the D'aubusson. It is much more peaceful. I too am surprised that the Buci is more; the D' aubusson is much more beautiful. you'll love it.

I don't know the Buci, but I love the d'Aubusson. I stayed in a "superior" room so our room was of a generous size, I don't know about standard rooms.
Great bathroom. Museum Card is sold in the lobby, a nice convenience. Breakfast is pricey, but very good.

Rue Dauphine does have some traffic noise on weekday mornings, so if you're not an early riser you might want a rear-facing room. Great location for metro access and walking.

A correction to a post above. Hotel de Buci does NOT have SMALL rooms -- it has TINY rooms!! I'd choose D'Abusson.

Regarding Hotel de Buci be aware that their cancellation policy is not only 15 days prior to arrival but they will charge you a 14 euro cancellation fee in addition. And while other hotels usually charge you for one night if you fail to meet the cancellation deadline, the Buci's charges seem to vary according to the length of your stay.

Over 500€ for a room? For that price you could stay at a 4*luxe hotel like the Meurice!

If you're stuck on one of these two hotels, there's no question that the Aubusson is a better bet for a standard room. As an alternative, you might want to think about the Duc de Saint-Simon, which has a lot of charm for about the same amount or less, and is in a much quieter, more upscale area. If you're splurging, you can get a suite for €350.

Bardo, I think you are referring to a suite maybe. Standard rooms (single and double) range from 190 euro to 250 euro. The website gives the rates for each room category. I don't see any standard double room for over 500 euro.

My mistake. I was looking at their two nights for two "special" in a double room for 1100?. That included a dinner cruise for two and a macaroon at Lauderee.

The special is for 1,102 euro for 2 nights in a double superior room (B & B) including a yacht dinner cruise with that macaron and champagne at Laduree.

That does work out to 551 euro/night. That's still very expensive. I think you can get a cheaper dinner cruise and is it one macaron only?

that macaroon is worth one euro, though, what a deal
