Hola Dave

We rent out our stylish and comfortable apartment in the old center of Barcelona.
It is an open plan space of about 45m2 with a wooden floor and high ceilings with big wooden beams and all comforts of home.

The apartment is situated in the heart of La Ribera, known also as El Born. This is where just about everything hip is happening now when it comes to art, fashion, interior decoration, classy restaurants, cool cocktail lounges and traditional tapas bars. A mix of old history and a modern, artistic and cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Close to all interesting spots like Museo Picasso, Placa Catalunya, the Ramblas, the cathedral, Gaudi's la Pedrera and Casa Batllo, Parc Ciutadella, the old harbour and the beach.

98 euro per night for 2 with a surcharge of 10 euro for a possible 3rd person.

My mother in law stayed there when she was visiting us in Barcelona.
If you don't mind a corporate hotel atmosphere, Crystal Palace is okay. Central located (but busy street) and clean. 3 or 4 stars....?

if you are going in a warm time of the year, the Granvia has its own courtyard with fountain as an additional attraction to convenient location near Plaza Catalunya. Our room faced south and overlooked the courtyard.
With all due deference to Anne's ad, Le Born is a neighborhood rising from being rundown and not at all within walking distance of most of the sites she lists-check it out on a travel map.

El Borne currently is the most expensive part of the old center.

Our apartment is just 20 meters from Museo Picasso,
less than 1 minute walk to la Basilica Santa Maria del Mar, a 2 minutes walk to Parc Ciutadella, 3 minutes to the old harbour, 6 minutes to the cathedral, a little more to Placa Catalunya and around 15 minutes walk to Casa Batllo.

Anne, if you are from Barcelona, can't you spell correctly the word, Born or Borne? Not that I want your commercial advertisement though. Also the original poster is asking for a specific information about Hotel Cristal Palace first. Can't you offer anything about it? From a bit annoyed Fodors Forum reader.

The correct name of el Borne is 'el Borne' and not el Born and for sure not le Born.
And I posted a message about Hotel Cristal Palace under name of polliii at navegalia.es

What's wrong with posting an apartment here? We are having a hard time finding something nice for New Year. We tried to make a reservation, but unfortunately it was allready booked.
