Has anyone stayed here? Wondering about walking distance to sites, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere...Thanks!

Not glamorous - kind of a shabby chic I guess. If you go to their website, we had the room pictured. Excellent location and close to Notre Dame, Pantheon, Sorbonne, two or three metro stops, etc. We had a quad room - very good sized, large enough bathroom and nice closet - also had a small fridge. . . . also: Author: cmeyer54
Date: 03/09/2004, 09:00 pm Message: Our family of four stayed at the Claude Bernard last August for about $250/night in a family suite. The hotel is in the latin quarter - about 2 blocks from the Seine River. We walked to Notre Dame, Louvre, etc with no problem and there are a ton of restaurants and cafes all over the area. The family suite had 2 double beds, one twin bed and a daybed. The ottoman could also fold out into another single bed if you needed it. There was a small desk, smallish chest of drawers and closet. Bath was 'ok' - this is not a 4 star hotel but very adequate for us. Staff was wonderful and very very helpful. When we checked in, I offered him my credit card as is the normal procedure and he brushed it off with 'madame, we trust you'. Not the typical parisian reaction to an American tourist.

Thanks! It sounds like it is fairly large for Paris standards...especially since we will be a triple room. Great advice!

I've never stayed at the Claude Bernard, but I have stayed in a hotel on the same street. The location is wonderful...walking distance to lots of sites (close to Notre-Dame) and many restaurants in the neighborhood. It's a really great area.
