hotel choices in venice

Hi, I've recieved so much wonderful information through these boards that I'm now having a hard time making choices. We will be in Venice for the first time for 3 nights at the end of May. This will be after a series of 4 flights from South Florida. As inexperienced international travellers, we expect to experience some jet lag and want a hotel that will afford us the pleasure of relaxation. We would love a water view, but probably don't want to go too much above 300 Euro per night. So far it looks like we are choosing between 1) Ca'del Nobile and 2)Locanda Orseolo. Does anyone have any recommendations with regard to these or other? Thanks so much

Just put Locanda Orseolo in the search box here and on Trip Advisor, and you will be able to read all the glowing recommendations. Having stayed for four nights in March, I can guarantee they are all true. We had an incredible stay there, not only due to the wonderful location, beautifully appointed rooms and fantastic breakfasts, but most importantly to the warm and incrediblly gracious hosts.

We have never been to Ca'del Nobile, but when in Venice, I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else but Locanda Orseolo, if I could.

Hi! We stayed at the Monaco Grande Hotel right on the Grand Canal a few years ago. Don't know the prices these days but it was a great location for all the water taxis( stopping right in front),a short walk to San Marco, wonderful views and just across the street from Harry's Bar(not so great). Have a great time!

At 300 Euros a night I would think you'd have your pick of almost any hotel. You are one lucky traveller!
