Hotel Chateau Frontenac

Any feed back on this hotel? We were booked there through Air France & I'm wondering after hearing of displeasure from people with AF bookings @ The Meridien $159 per nite w/continental breakfast beginning 12-29 for 8 nights. 4stars Louis XV furnishings??? Reasonable places to eat nearby? Any input is appreciated. Jerald

For atmosphere and location, it's impossible to do any better than the Frontenac in Quebec.
That being said, the rooms themselves are only average. The second time I visited I opted to stay at Loews Le Concord, much more modern but a little more out of the way.
You won't have any trouble finding restaurants from the Frontenac - there are good ones everywhere in that area.

I guess I should have specified that the hotel in question is in Paris France located near the Arc de Triump

You may want to check this web site out. www.parishotels.com. I checked the section near the Arc de Triomphe but did not see this hotel. You many also try going to www.yahoo.fr and do a search for this hotel.

Good afternoon, Jerald
Stayed at the HOTEL CHATEAU FRONTENAC,
54, rue Pierre Charron, in the 8th or.
It is located about two blocks east
of the Arc down the Champs Elysees\.
and one block south on the Charron.
If was a wonderful hotel with breakfast
served in the room each morning. Stayed
there in 85 and 88, were very satisified both times, plenty of ristorantes and shops around and a block
off the Champs Elysees..
Richard of La Grange Park, Il...

I spent 3 months in a pension in Quebec in summer 1957. Lovely
time, altho I was seriously broke. One great remedy for my straitened
circumstances was to go into the Frontenac's lounge area and sit
on the overstuffed chairs and sofas and nudge my fingers under
the upholstery where thanks to the well-heeled clientele there was
an immense trove of loose change, By shifting from place to place
I could find enough to pay for an evening's wassail & have enough
for morning coffee in a cafe. Of course a couple of the hotel staff were
wise to my ploy, but a quarter here and there fended them off.

Ah, well. Paris, Quebec. N'importe, n'est-ce-pas?
