Mia -

Why not send an e-mail directly to the hotel to get this question answered definitively? There is an e-mail link from the hotel's site: http://www.hotel-du-champ-de-mars.com/

I don't think this hotel has in-room safes; the Champ de Mars is on many booking sites and the ammenities listed do not include that. They surely have a safe at reception, and will no doubt be willing to keep those items there if you like. Or you can do as I do and simply lock them inside your luggage.

According to one of the reviewers on Fodors Rants and Raves, the CdM does have in-room safes. But if I were you I would do as Lesli suggests and e-mail the hotel. It could be that some rooms have them and some don't. If it is important to you, you should ask that they put you in a room that has a safe.

The last 2 times I was at this hotel there was no room safe but we just locked any valuables in our suitcase. But maybe they have them now...email and ask.

Grand Hotel Leveque on Rue Cler, just around corner from Champ de Mars, does have in room safes as "standard" equipment.

we stayed there in May, no room safe in our room.

also, one day we did come back and it looked like someone had gone through our bag. We didn't have anything of value in it and nothing was taken.
