Hotel Castelfidardo - Rome
Has anyone every stayed or heard anything about this hotel? Pictures look decent and it's very cheap (79 Euros). Is it safe. Does anyone have any recommendations for safe budget accommodations in Rome? Thanks.

What is the address? I couldn't find this hotel on a search, but only hotels located on via Castelfidardo.

It has the same address as this B&B:
www.andyelu.com It might be that it is on a different floor. There are several threads about budget accommodation in Rome. Also try looking at http://www.venere.com . |
Also the same address as this hotel:

Yes, I found the Andy & Lu B&B web-site too and thought it was confusing. Thanks for your help.

In case anyone is interested, I finally found this from Let's Go:
Via Xx Settembre and Environs Dominated by government ministries and private apartments, this area is less noisy and touristy than the nearby Termini. Hotel Castelfidardo and Hotel Lazzari, V. Castelfidardo, 31 (06 446 4638; fax 494 1378; www.castelfidardo.com). Two blocks off V. XX Settembre. Both run by the same friendly family. Renovated rooms with spanking clean floors and soothing pastel walls. 3 floors of modern, shiny comfort and plenty of bathroom space. Communal bath. Check-out 10:30am. English spoken. Singles €42, with bath €52; doubles €60/€70; triples €77/€93; quads with bath €108. AmEx/MC/V. |
We stayed there last year. It's on Via Castelfidardo, about a 15 minute walk from Termini. The hotel is on the third floor (but there is a tiny lift) and there seems to be a number of sister hotels in the same building.
Our room was quite big - a triple even though we paid for a double. Air conditioning is an extra €7 but worth it during the heat wave that we had when we were there. Price does not include breakfast but there are plenty of places to eat around. The room was very basic and look a bit dingy but are very clean. The bathroom was tiny but also clean. The area is okay - pretty dead at night but very quiet. It's quite a walk to the Spanish Steps or the Trevi - about 30 mins. There was a nice modern bar and enoteca close by and a couple of very cheap restaurants. Two streets away are cinemas showing porno movies so I'd stay that those streets aren't too nice - although we only noticed this on the last day. Overall while we were quite happy with the hotel I'd prefer to stay somewhere more central the next time we're in Rome. Hope this helps. |
