Hotel Casci in Florence

We will be going to Florence in June. Have received rejections from all hotel reservation requests, except one (response: sorry, we're full.) I did secure a reservation at the Hotel Casci. Has anyone stayed there before? Thanks.

If this is the Pensione Cascina I stayed at in 1988, it is tremendous value for money

Jim, You have a reservation at one of the nicest little hotels in Florence! Lucky you! We stayed there in Sept and it was outstanding. Walked from the train station, 5-8 min tops, and right down from by the Duomo. Pablo and his mother and father are great hosts. Speak perfect English and made our reservations at the Uffizi and to see the David for us. The rooms are small but well orgainzed, color TV, phones, internet access, and nice tiled baths with showers. Look for a small doorway and go in and take the elevator to the third floor. It looks like you are going into a office bldg. Beacuse it almost sits inside several bldg, there is NO street noise! You even get a calendar when you leave and they have a good ample breakfast with the coolest espresso machine around! Enjoy Florence!

Going to Florence soon myself, for the first time. This place sounds great--how much is it a night and how can I get in touch with them?

Jim:
I stayed at the Hotel Casci last June
and agree that Pablo and the location
are just great. I can't imagine staying
anywhere more convenient. It does not
look like a hotel from the street as the
other person mentioned. I think you will be happy at the Casci. Have a nice
trip.

Here's one more satisifed customer! We stayed at the Casci last Sept. Wonderful place, great location, VERY CLEAN - can't beat it! I'd go back there without hesitation. Their web site is http://www.hotelcasci.com.

Great value for money. Stayed there last November with a friend and my 2-yr old. Room was spacious and looks newly renovated. But it does look inconspicuous at street-level and we actually missed it, and walked all the way up that street. It is just a short walk from the Info centre (after the Lorenzo market), so remember to look out for the hotel's small sign. Not much to look at at first glance but trust me, you'll be pleasantly surprised once you get out of the elevator. Very pretty hotel indeed. And Florence, needless to say, is Magic...ENJOY.

Sara, I made a reservation this morning, over the internet at Hotel Casci for 2 double rooms for June. It cost me Lit. 360000 (about $180) per night per room, including buffet breakfast, all taxes and service charges. I feel like I already know Paolo!!! Real friendly emails.
