Hotel Casci, Florence

I believe I have asked this before, but can not find the response, so excuse me if I am asking the same question. Does the Hotel Casci have an elevator? Thank you.

Hi SallyJo,
Have you considered contacting them? The website is http://www.hotelcasci.com/

Grasshopper Feb 2nd, 2003 08:10 AM

Yes, it does.

SallyJo Feb 2nd, 2003 08:18 AM

Thank you. I did email them, but I have not gotten a response so far. Grasshopper, one more question....this isn't one of those "tricky" elevators that I've sometimes seen in Italy, that takes you mid-way and then you must take stairs up a flight and down two?

Grasshopper Feb 2nd, 2003 08:23 AM

No, it's pretty straight forward. The hotel is all on one floor, one floor up from the street level. It drops you right at in front of the hotel lobby. The building has many other offices in it on other floors.

If you are concerned about stairs, there are rooms way down the halls that have 2 or 3 steps. But if you need to avoid stairs, let them know prior to arriving. They are quite accommodating.

The Quad room in Hotel Casci. Has anyone seen/used it? Is it large enough for four adults or is it more for two adults and two small children?

I remember it having a tiny elevator. It's a nice hotel. Don't get room near the street. The ones further back are quieter.

We stayed in a quad room there in the spring of 1999. There was a lot of room in there! Definitely ok for 4 adults.

Hi we are staying in the quad room in June, could you tell me what the quad room looks like? Also area around the hotel?
Thanks
Di

Di, My sister's family stayed in a large room (for 5) in 2001. It was really large and had a great bathroom.

The best thing about Casci is the location. It's is about 2 blocks from the Duomo and 2 blocks from the Accademia. It's easy to walk everywhere from there.

The location, as far as I'm concerned, is the ONLY good thing about the Casci. We stayed there last trip to Florence and found the hotel/rooms to be dark and depressing. I also wanted to bring morning coffee and oj back to my wife in the room, and the breakfast "monitor" refused to allow anything to be taken from the dining area - even though she knew that we were guests.

We stayed there in 2001. Had a front bedroom that was amazingly quiet (I'd read they could be noisy...but this was completly quiet.) I'd mentioned it was our 25th anniversary and they had a bottle of bubbly on ice with two glasses waiting for us upon check-in. The decor was rather plain and dark, but we spent little time in our room so it was no big deal. The laundry service is GREAT. Leave a bag with the front desk by 9AM and everything is laundered and folded and on your bed when you get back from a day of sightseeing (around 5PM). The breakfast room was lovely and they put out a nice spread for you.
