Hotel Carmine - Locarno

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? We are tossing up between a B&B at the Kontiki, from the bnb.ch website or the above hotel from the rooms.ch site. They will work out roughly the same in price.

The B&B has a small kitchen which would be great but the hotel has a 3 night package of a room with balcony, dinner one night, an icecream (yum) voucher and a pass for a trip on the lake for around 300E. It just sounds to good to be true. I would like some feedback before I email them. I have tried searches on here and tripadvisor to no avail.

Maudie,

Where did you find that price for the package? The hotel website lists the price for 2006 as 188 euro per person; they don't show a 2007 package price, but a room for 3 nights in May 2007 comes up around 450 euro.

Hi Enzian,

It is under the specials on their website, there are a couple of different ones. That one is called Nature (I assume-I don't speak Italian) but now that I have looked again I see the 300E is per person - silly me - I should have looked closer.

I did get the 450 euro price for June as well which seems ok to us. The package price was for 2006 so I guess they would be adding onto that price for 2007. I don't think that 600 plus for the package will be in our ballpark though. At least you made me look again - and I thank you for that!

Hi Maudie--this is bizarre; I wonder if you access a different website from Australia? This page shows 188 euro (per person) for the 3-night "Natur" package:

Again, these are 2006 prices, but in my experience prices don't change much from year to year in Switzerland. I don't know if 376 euro for the 3-night package is in your budget, but it's better than 600! Maybe e-mail them and see what they offer.

Yes, I think I might send off an email and see what they say.

Thanks Enzian.
