Hotel CarlosV Madrid
Any thoughts re Hotel CarlosV in Madrid? I know it's a central (noisy) location but are the interior rooms reasonably quiet? How's the staff? Breakfast? Nearby dining/shopping tips and values? Who gives the best half-day tour? Thank you.

Our family stayed there over Easter weekend a year ago so it might not have been a true test of the noise, but we faced the street. The windows are lined with several noise and light deadening layers. We thought the location was excellent, could walk everywhere inc. to the Prado. Breakfast buffet was good, and you are across the street from their major dept. store. They have airport transportation, and our room had a balcony. Judy

We stayed there 5 times and loved it. Staff is fine, breakfast is terrific and included, location didn't seem noisy to us even as we face the street.<BR>We would go back.

stayed there for 3 nights last March - big clean bathrooms, decent size rooms. We had a room at the back that was extremely quiet and dark (made for great sleeping). Breakfasts were good and the breakfast room was pretty. Location can't be beat.

I was just at Carlos V last Thursday. It was very clean and the room size was great - (There were three of us). The breakfast was good and the location was excellent.
