What should we do for 6 days in Austria?
A friend and I will be taking a 2 weeks holiday in europe in May. After a few days in Amsterdam, we will be travelling to Prague and thereafter Austria. Looking at spending 6 days in Austria.
Any suggestions on where we should visit in Austria? And how to travel back to Amsterdam to catch our flight home?

Thanks for your replies. We are looking at Austria for its nature, music and heritage. Think quaint villages surrounded by nature and the majestic alps holds much appeal. Only worry is accessibility as we are not driving.
Playing with the idea of 3 days in Vienna and maybe 3-4 days between Salzburg and Innsbruck. However, am wondering if it makes more sense to skip Innsbruck and explore the area around Vienna and Salzburg instead?
As Michael suggested, maybe we could move from Vienna to Melk and then make our way to Salzburg and the surroundings?
Really appreciate your advice.
