Hotel Buci Latin/Bel Ami in Paris
If you've stayed in both, how do you compare the hotels, and their rooms?

Thanks for answering,

Ceci
|
Anyone? Please?
|
Ceci, although this appears to be a travel forum it is really a place for people to sound off about everything but travel. You won't get helpful information about your hotels here. They will just yell at you for being lazy and not looking the information up yourself.

I hope Fodor's realizes how this is hurting their business and puts some kind of log in process in place.

Stayed at the former only. Great location, decent sized rooms for the area, very hip decor. The staff is also very helpful.
The Buci Latin does have website.
|
Tired - why then are you still on the forum?

Ceci - have stayed only at Buci Latin and love it. Rooms are more 'trendy' than 'classic', but are very comfortable and large by Paris standards. Enjoy!

Thanks to all that responded.

I've seen the pictures of both hotels and their rooms, as I know their fantastic locations. However, pictures are not enough to show someone a room size, nor they tell anyone how service is. I've done my homework, and if I asked, is because I rely more on people who come to this forum to share their experiences, than I rely on guides, whose information is often dated, and travel sites, that most of the times are commercially oriented.

Again, thanks to Ryan and Jen, for your very informative posts, and Tired for sharing his/her thoughts.

Reagrds to all,

Ceci

I've stayed at the Bel Ami. It's very modern in style; the rooms are comfortable, smartly decorated, again very contemporary, burgundy colors, etc., low lighting (I prefer a little more light, but it was ok). What I didn't like: the weird ultra modern shower nozzle. It's shaped like a stick rather than round and had a tendency to spray all over (I live in Europe and am very used to hand held showers, but this was a tricky one). I also liked the free Internet access for guests in the lobby. Service was very good.
BTilke

Thanks, BTilke, for the information on the Bel Ami. Have you stayed in the Saint Germain rooms? As you probably know, these Saint Germain rooms are the cheapest, or say, the least expensive rooms at the Bel Ami, and they seem to have mantained the original Hotel Alliance decor. I wonder how worn out they are, and whether the bathrooms have or not been modernized...
