Hotel Brouwer Amsterdam

We were in Amsterdam last week and stayed at the Hotel Brouwer for 3 nights. Just wanted to let you all know that it was a great place to stay. Good location, clean, warm, more than filling breakfast and a good price. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

What was the price? Location? Thanks

Price was 85Euro for a double per night including breakfast and all taxes. If you check out their website you can look at a map of their location.

www.hotelbrouwer.com.nl I think!

Happy travels j

I completely agree. We stayed there in 2001 and I can't wait to go back. The owner was so nice and helpful.

I am so relieved to hear that the Hotel Brouwer is a nice place, we are booked to stay there in May but read on another website that someone had found mice droppings in their breakfast!! It putus off a bit, but then we thought, what the heck. It does look lovely on the website. Is it near to everything, are there any restaurants or bars you can recommend close by?

I read that thread about the mice also and had the same response as you and was glad I did. To be honest Amsterdam had to be crawling with mice & the likes all those old buildings & water but the Brouwer was definately clean. We had the Van Gough room which is a corner room and a really good size.

It is within walking distance to a lot of restaurants & bars. Sorry I can't think of the name of any in particular but as you wander around just look in the windows and read the menus which are usually displayed outside to find something to take your fancy. The Brouwer was full every night we were there in Feb so it is definately popular.

Don't hesitate to ask anything else I may be able to help with.

Safe & Happy travels.

We saw a mouse (ok most likely a rat) scampering under the seats in one of the viewing rooms at City Cinema. I imagine it is not uncommon due to the canals, and the water levels going up/down when they 'flush' the system...

We stayed at the Hotel Brouwer this past weekend - it was exceptionally clean and cozy. We didn't want a chain-hotel experience, and we were certainly not disappointed.

I stayed there last year and loved it. I can never understand why someone would go to Amsterdam in stay in a big modern hotel and spend two or three times as much when they can stay in someplace like the Brouwer. The view, the atmosphere, the location - all wonderful.
