hotel botticelli in florence and hotel oxford in rome

We are planning our honeymoon in October and will be in Rome and Florence for a couple of days before heading to the Chianti region. Does anyone have information on the hotel Oxford in Rome and the Botticelli in Florence. Thanks.

Good evening, Lori
Have not stayed at either of these hotels but am familiar with the areas.
The Hotel Botticelli, Via Taddea, 8
is a three star hotel with 34 rooms
and supposedly newly restored. It is
located about a half block east of the
Mercato Centrale, the main Firenze food
market, about 1 1/2 blocks north of the
Medici Chappel and about 3 blocks north
of the Duomo, plenty of shops and stores
around.....
The Hotel Oxford, via Boncompagni, 89
is a thre star hotel with 60 rooms, again in a good located located just
east of the center of the Via Veneto,
again plenty of shops and ristorantes
around, a short walk down the via Veneto
to the Pza Barberini and its metro station.
If you go into www.venere.it and search
the city and then the hotel, has some
pictures of both and additional information. Richard of La Grange Parfk, Il

I've stayed at the Botticelli a couple of times. It was completely renovated in - I think - '97, and is very nice. The location is great. You definitely want to reserve a room in the back; the street noise in the front is unbearable with all those vespas going by.

Lori: I hope this reply is not too late to be of help to you. I stayed at the Hotel Oxford Aug 2-6 with my husband & 2 teenagers--definately not my honeymoon! We found the hotel to be excellent. Not especially fancy, but clean quiet, with a friendly & helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast. It is located about 3 blacks east of the American Embassy. Many corpoate bank buildings on the street--it's easy to use the ATMs. A non-touisty shopping area just to the east of the hotel. There's a taxi stand at the corner of Via Veneto and Via Buoncompagni. The hotel has internet access free for guests. Enjoy your trip.
