HOTEL BOOKINGS THROUGH GULLIVERS TRAVEL CO.

Hello everyone!

Has anyone ever booked European accommodation with Gullivers Travel Co.? Just wondering if they are a valid reservation organisation.

Anyone? Help out a footloose Aussie?

Gulliver is a computer travel reservation's system. I have heard of problems with it in Ireland. Many times when people book a reservation the system (for some reason) does not let the accommodation know. That could be a big problem for you if you are depending on having reservations especially in peak season. The accommodations must also pay a fee for each booking to Gulliver. If you contact your lodgings directly and mention that, perhaps you will get a discount for booking directly with the accommodation. Just a thought.

I think Ryanairhotels.com might have used GTA Hotels (Gulliver) behind the scenes, because my voucher seemed to indicate that. I had no problems, in any event.

If you like the rate, you can book it with Gulliver, and then a couple days later, email the hotel to confirm your booking. They will tell you if they have anything on record. Once you get the hotel to confirm your reservation, there is no problem at all.

Thank you IrishEyes and WillTravel - most helpful. I was worried because the deals seem almost too good to be true. I will do as you suggest and e-mail the hotels after booking.
