Hotel Between Disneyland Paris and CDG
 

We are leaving from CDG on a Sunday morning and wonder if anyone has any suggestions of a good place somewhere between Disneyland and the airport. We are checking out of our other hotel on Saturday in Montmarte and would like some place we could check in early and/or leave our luggage (or at least some of it). Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have been reading the posts here actively and have found some great tips from everyone. This is our honeymoon and first trip outside of the US as a couple.

Hi.. do you mean another hotel within Paris? or a hotel near/next to CDG? or a hotel on the outskirts of Paris anywhere b/t Disney and CDG?
If the last one, are you using a car or does it need to be on the rail system? (for going into CDG).

Sorry I was not specific enough in my original post I was hoping to keep it short and to the point but in my haste left out some key details. :( We are traveling without a car so someplace near a Metro stop would be best. We prefer some place near either a midway point between CDG and EURODis by a few good sights that might be worth seeing again on our last few hours or somewhere near CDG that would have something to do for a few hours before we leave in the morning and/or something to do after we get back to the hotel after our day at Disney.

Ok.. so on Saturday you check out of your hotel in Paris, leave your luggage at the new hotel, and take train to Disney, then return to Paris for a few remaining hours in the day. I'm feeling kind of daft today - why can't you keep the same hotel and taxi to airport Sunday morning? It takes about 40 minutes get there (+ the 2 hrs you need to check in, etc).
Disney is about 30-40km outside Paris, and you'll travel out then back to Paris-center on the train. CDG is north of Paris. You can arrive Sunday morning from your same hotel (unless there's a problem with availability your last night..?)..

Travelnut - yes we are unable to get the same place for our last night in town. We are actually renting a place in Montmarte that we have to check out of on Saturday morning hence the desire to find someplace we could A)Check in early or at least leave luggage at and B)Enjoy on Saturday some of the Paris nightlife or see something in the early hours of Sunday. We fly back from CDG on a mid am flight Sunday.

I'm not sure I follow this yet, but I think you need to check out of your apt. Sat morning and then you definitely plan the entire day at Disney but have a flight out Sunday? Really, I would book a hotel at the airport, then. I can't imagine you'll have time after all day at Disney for other sightseeing etc in the evening around your hotel. As long as you have to move, you might as well make it easy for you on Sunday. I can't imagine that that if your flight leaves mid Sunday am, you absolutely will not have time for additional sightseeing Sunday morning. I flew out of CDG at Sunday noon a month or so ago and the checkin and security lines took close to 3 hours.

It is true Disneyland isn't on the RER to CDG, though. Montmartre is not really convenient for your Sat/Sun plans, either, or I'd just immediately check in to whichever hotel is within a block of your apt and walk there, unless it were a total dump. You still could do that.

They probably can't stay at CDG because they need a place to hold their luggage while they day-trip to Disney...
DnW, why not try www.parishotels.com, using your date and other relevant criteria, and see what is available?

About 2 years ago we stayed overnight at a Novotel (a Novotel/Ibis duo sharing a main entrance) that was about halfway between CDG and Disney and near an RER stop (the CDG hotels were full). All I can say is NEVER again. The neighborhood was downright scary. To get to the RER stop, you had to walk down an eery little street hidden from view. At night it seemed full of menacing shadows that, in the daylight, turned out to be BLOOD STAINS. I had gone into Paris for the day while my husband stayed back at the hotel. I had to call him from the RER station because I was terrified to walk home alone--so, apparently, was everyone else because all the women getting off were met by someone. Every single one. At only 8 pm.
We are not jumpy about big city life (I live in Brussels and have lived in NYC, Philly, my husband has also lived in Hong Kong, Singapore, etc.). But this place gave us the creeps.
I'll check the Accor web site to see if I can figure out exactly which Novotel/Ibis this was. It's one hotel I would stay far, far away from no matter how good a price you find.

Thanks TravelNut - you are hitting them right on the head. I'll take a trip over to parishotels.com and see what I can find. I need to pull my maps and find out where the RER could be gotten on/off of that might be convenient to Montmarte we are spending the rest of our time.

Btilke - I especially appreciate your insight. It sounds like being in the area you were I would be causing my fiancee to probably not have as good a time.If she were concerned about her safety we would probably not look back on this time as a great one from our honeymoon.

Did you try to get a hotel for one night at Disney? There is a direct shuttle from the Park to CDG; you would have to check for the schedule, but I think it is quite frequent. (I know because my granddaughter made me go to Disney.....)

Travelnut & DnW: I don't follow why they can't stay at a CDG hotel because they want someone to keep their luggage while they go to Disney. Any hotel they check into is going to have to keep their luggage that day, but why wouldn't they, if they are checking in? I was sort of thinking of going to a CDG hotel, checking in, and maybe taking that shuttle bus to Disney.

Anyway, if you want to stay in town near an RER stop to CDG not far from MOntmartre, your choices are very limited. I'd say the Gare du Nord stop is best, then perhaps Gare de Lyon. There is a decent hotel right in front of Gare du Nord, Hotel Terminus Nord. That will be a short trip from your apt., and then in the morning just get on the RER and go up a few stops to CDG. I wouldn't wander all over the 10th at night, but it's right in front of the station.

There are also some hotels right around Gare de Lyon and that station is a direct shot to Disney. A couple I think are decent is the Terminus Lyon (same brand, LIbertel, I think -- they are good) and a HOliday Inn that is one of their nicer ones. However, you will have to transfer at Chatelet the next morning to get to CDG. I'd choose Terminus Nord.

I'm just learning about the CDG-Disney shuttle, didn't know about that one. So I couldn't see trudging to CDG area to unload luggage, then back thru Paris to Disney etc. But I now understand your point about a CDG hotel, if they could then go straight out to Disney.. If they wanted to see Paris one last evening, then they could take RER-B to the CDG hotel later...Boy, you do learn something new here every day!

There seemed to be quite a few less expensive chain type hotels on the east side of the Periphinique(spel?). Holiday Inn Express, Novatel, Ibis,Comfort Inn, Star(I think).

I know Wendy and I will have a good time and look forward to telling everyone what we finally deicded upon doing and how things turned out for us. We are leaving in only 4 weeks from today. I'm excited about the wedding of course but am really looking forward to this trip to Paris.

There is a Golden Tulip Hotel just an RER stop from Disney. They were having a special that included entrance to the park, but I'm not sure if that is still true.
The RER is a long and inconvenient ride from Disney when you are trying to catch a plane. A better alternative is the TGV that leaves from the Disneyland station directly to CDG. It is a 15-20 minute ride at most. Even the RER representative at the Disneyland station suggested that as a better alternative! It is more expensive but worth it.

We found a hotel Companile de Roissy for a decent rate of $82USD with breakfast all taxes included (2 stars) that has a shuttle to take us to the airport and the station to go to Disneyland. Has anyone stayed here before? ANy word on how the hotel is for a place to stay?

PS I think we are going to try the TGV train to the park.

Campaniles are a chain of very basic hotels, but it will serve fine for what you need. The room will be very, very small (the bed may fold down from the wall), but it will be clean and they actually serve a decent breakfast (at least the one I ended up in in the Loire Valley did).
