Hotel Beau Rivage
Has anyone been? I reserved a room for 4 nights in July.

There are, I think, a great many hotels called "Beau Rivage."
If you stated the town or city, you would be more likely to get responses. |
The one stately hotel in Interlaken by Ost train station?

I apologize! The hotel is in Nice, France. I thought I was in the French forum. sorry.

We stayed at the Beau Rivage in 1998, so maybe someone else can give you more up-to-date information, but at that time it was nice.
The rooms were as large as most European hotel rooms, and the bathrooms were fine. Our group had four rooms, and they were all about the same. The location was great, right across the street from the beach (I think I remember that the hotel had a "private' beach area). By the way, the beach is pebbles not sand, but pretty. Byrd |
You should re-post this question for UNDERHILL, who I believe stayed at Beau Rivage this past summer, and knows it well.

We spent two nights at the Beau Rivage in September and were very disappointed in the hotel. Aside from the location, there's nothing special about the hotel. The décor is minimalist, the colors boring and depressing (mostly greys), the halls are hot, the staff is a bit uppity, and room noise on the street side is annoying--all those motorbikes that keep whizzing by during the night make sleep difficult.
The rooms lacked any vestige of charm, and the bathrooms were small. None of the rooms were equipped with the advertised electric shades. Even the deluxe rooms were cramped, and the in-room Internet hook-ups didn't work. I would most definitely not recommend the hotel. In its price range you can find much pleasanter hotels that will give you the feeling of being in Provence. Try Le Meridien--much nicer hotel and only a block away across the Prince Albert garden. There you can get rooms with a view, the Beau Rivage having none as there's no frontage on the Promenade des Anglais. I've posted a detailed review of the Beau Rivage at tripadvisor.com in case you want more information. |
Thanks for the advise!
