We enjoyed our day in Trapani - it seemed like a nice small town and wish we had more time to spend there. This is a perfect example of where it would have been nice not to have reservations we were tied in to.
Enjoy your trip. Sicily is gorgeous in the Spring with all the wild flowers. |
What I have learned through the information offered here, reservations in Sorrento should and will be made soon. Staying in Agritourismo's seems to be the option I prefer for both ease of parking a car and enjoying the more rustic countryside. >>
Boolanger - I've always liked the idea of an agriturismo but I've always been concerned that we would have to eat in every night [assuming it's got a restaurant] or drive somewhere to eat, and therefore one of us would not be able to drink. That said, the idea of staying in one for a night or two has always appealed. you trip sounds terrific - you should have great time. |
We have had excellent food at the agriturismos where we have stayed. Its generallyfresh, off the farm & very reasonably priced. Most of them have been 10-20 minutes from a town and we do eat dinner out also. The driver will have a glass of wine or beer, but no more. But if you're not comfortable on country roads, sometimes very dark, sometimes very windy and hilly, then you might not want to go out at night. The opposite can be true also -- sometimes it's nice not to have to go anywher except where you are staying esp after a long day of siteseeing.
