Hotel Austria in Vienna?

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Austria in Vienna?
It looks pretty decent and it's right in the center of the city. Great rate for off season too-99 euro per night.

Just looking for Fodorite feedback-I've already read the reviews on Tripadvisor and Venere.

Thanks!

I thought about staying there but chose Pension Pertschy, which I recommend strongly. I paid 67 Euros per night but got one night free.

HI - We stayed at the Hotel Austria in Nov. 2004. Very nice old hotel. Real Austrian feel and the little courtyard it's on is quiet, yet just around the corner from Fleishmarkt street (medieval street) and a few minutes walk to louder, busier things. It's not a modern hotel - old furniture, but clean. Our room was surprisingly spacious. Breakfast was very varied. Everyone was nice to us. Great price for the center of Vienna. Close to Undergournd and tram. Would definitely go there again.
By the way - if you stay here: There's a restaurant on the corner - very local place - that we had dinner in about 3 times as it was convenient and we were sometimes very tired in the evening and just wanted someplace close to go to. It was a delight - regular Viennese dishes, again local populace, not touristy. Sorry I forgot the name, but as it's right on the corner; you can't miss it.

Thanks for the replies.
Joe-I've looked at the Pension Pertschy as well. For a Double it's 105 euro per night and up. I can't tell from their website what the difference is between the types of double rooms. Number of beds?

Kenav-Thanks for the details. I think I know what restaurant you are talking about-read about it yesterday on another forum.

Hi again -

There's a famous 14th century (or somehing like that) restaurant, The Griechenbeisl, right across from the one on the corner that I was talking about. Maybe that's the one you've heard about in other forums. Went there, too. It's fun because it's so old. Much more expensive than the one right on the corner.

BTW - When we stayed at the Hotel Austria our room faced the courtyard and was very quiet. Have fun.

Yes, you're right. The famous one is the one I'd read about. I'll look for the other one as well. Thanks!
