Hotel at or near the Rome airport?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a hotel at or near the Rome airport? We have a 9:30 am flight out of Rome and we don't want to have to wake up any earlier than we have to since we are going to have a long day.

Thanks,
Ann

Hi T,

This question has been asked sooooo many times before. Just type your question in the search box and read forever.

80/90% of the responses will tell you to spend your last night in Rome and take a cab or private shuttle to the airport for 35/45 euros.

My husband and I spent our last night at the Hilton at the airport. It was great. We checked in early and took their free bus back to Rome and spent a few hours there and then returned to the hotel. We had an early flight out the next morning. We actually arranged for a car to take us along with my dad to the airport which was great because there was a taxi strike and if we didn't have the car prearranged, I'm not sure how we would have gotten to the airport.

There's also a Hilton Garden Inn. Try Venere or Expedia of you want more choices and enter the city as Fiumicino.

I am sorry TerryLFred but I don't understand your post. The Hilton Hotel at the airport is AT the airport so to speak..walking distance to the airport.

..was there earlier this week. I stayed at the airport Hilton- an OK hotel. It was souless and I could have been in Indiana. However, the real plus is that this is the only hotel which is "attached" so to speak to the airport. I walked to the hotel and it took less mthan 10 minutes to check in. The extra hour of sleep was well worth it and no worries about traffic jams, taxis which dont show ect.

I empathize with Tampagirl on wanting to maximize rest and minimize logistics the night before a long flight. Highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn; the free bus to Rome is a nice incentive. Apply for a Hilton Honors Card and you get free bottle water upon check-in!

Hi T,

It's about 55E for a cab to the airport from Rome. About 1 hr.

We liked the Holiday Inn EUR Parc Medici - about 10 min from FCO by shuttle bus (check with hotel for schedule).

We checked into the Hilton, kept our rental car for a few more hours and visited Ostica Antica which is very near the airport.
